Waste Free Greenwich hosts our 5th Annual Compost Giveback Day, Wednesday, May 14th, in appreciation of our supporters and in celebration of over 600,000 lbs of food scraps diverted from our waste stream through the volunteer municipal food scrap recycling program.
Registration for Waste Free Greenwich's Compost Giveback Day is required and will be capped at 120 participants. This is a private event for supporters of Waste Free Greenwich, not open to the general public.
Pick up is in the parking lot of Living Hope Community Church (38 West End Avenue, Old Greenwich) both during food scrap drop off hours (12-2pm) and in the evening (4:30-6:30pm) only. Participants must be registered in advance and check in with our team members upon arrival to receive compost. Volunteers will help load bags into vehicles.
One bag (1 cubic foot, 7.5 gallons) per household, as quantities are limited. Suggested donation of $5.
If you are unable to pick up your bag during designated hours, please contact wastefreegreenwich@gmail.com by May 15th. Unclaimed bags will be distributed to non-profit organizations and residents on our waitlist in order of registration.
Waste Free Greenwich would like to thank Curbside Compost and Living Hope Community Church for their continued partnership.
